How to ripen your mango at home: If you receive a mango that is not quite ripe and is a little hard to touch, you just need to place the mango in a brown paper bag, along with an apple. The apple increases the ethylene gas content, which quickens ripening. Leave the bag overnight on your countertop and check inside in the morning for signs of ripening. A ripe mango yields slightly when you press it, and has a sweet, fruity smell on the stem end. Check the bag daily until the mango is ripe. Once the mango is ripe, you can just place it in your fridge for a few days if you aren’t going to eat it right away. Enjoy!
