Dunany Organic Rye Flour Stoneground (1kg)
Rye is low in gluten and suitable for traditional sourdough and mixed recipes. It has a unique wholesome natural flavour.

their flour business using 100% natural organic grains, harvested on
their farm at Dunany on the unspoilt East coast of Ireland.
Home grown and home produced, all
their flour is freshly milled to order retaining the recognisably
outstanding quality of taste and texture.
The Workmans use stone ground mills to produce the wonderful soft, fine ground wholemeal, spelt and rye flours.
Recipe for Easy Rye Bread
To make 2 x 500g loaves you will need
500g organic rye flour
200g strong white flour
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 level teaspoons bread soda (bicarbonate of soda)
Pre heat oven to Gas mark 7, 220oc (428oF)
Grease 2 x 500g loaf tins
Mix all the dry ingredients
together. Beat the egg into the water and buttermilk and add to the dry
ingredients to make a dropping consistency. Divide the mixture evenly
between the two tins and leave to stand for 30 minutes.
Place on the middle/high shelf of
the pre heated oven and bake for 35 – 40 minutes. After a few minutes,
turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
This recipe makes a lovely light rye loaf which will keep for 2 – 3 days.
