Christmas card pack - Mistletoe Collection
Four beautiful Christmas cards, designed by textile artist Jen Keavey.
The cards feature four woodland animals gazing up at the mistletoe. Choose from 'Mistletoe Wish', 'Mistletoe Kiss', 'Mistletoe Love', and 'Mistletoe Heart'.
Each card is 12cm x 17cm and comes in a biodegradable cello bag.
There is something so nice about sending Christmas cards. In our digital, instant world a card is a something real to send to a loved one. Something that has been physically written in and posted in a post box! And what a lovely thing to receive when these days all we get are bank statements and insurance documents in the post! It is like being given a little envelope of love from someone. We all feel warm inside when we receive a card that tells us another person is thinking about us and has taken the time to send us something special.
Why not send some unique Christmas cards this year and spread the love.
I used the animals from these cards to create some original textile artworks which you can find here: Hare, Badger, Stag, Squirrel
If you would like to send a card to someone directly Jen can write your message and post it for you. Just send her an email to arrange… jen@intothewoods.ie
My name is Jen Keavey and I am a textile artist. I live on the West
Coast of Ireland in Co. Galway, and I am married to Kenneth of Green Earth
Organics! I work from my home studio to create beautiful individual pieces of
textile art.
This is also what inspired the name of my business. I am at my happiest in the woods, walking, sketching, taking photographs and just being present. Trees and art are deeply rooted within me and I wanted to make a statement about that with the name.
I take my inspiration from the natural world around me: from what I see out of the window, in the woods, around our organic farm, and the landscapes of the West Coast of Ireland. Creating what I see and feel brings me to a deep connection with the beauty of nature, from awe-inspiring cliffs to the delicate veins of a leaf. When you own a piece of my art you hold a part of that connection to nature and all the joy and wonder that it brings.
I create landscapes, seascapes, botanical art and animal art using my sewing machine as my drawing tool. My techniques include layering fabrics, raw edge applique, free motion stitching and hand embroidery. I sometimes add beads and shells. I particularly love the textures and patterns that fabrics can create. Many of my pieces are framed without the glass as they are so tactile; they invite you to touch. Each piece is one of a kind.
